Functional Lab Testing
A standard panel is built to catch disease. It is not built to explain why you feel off. Functional testing reads the space between “sick” and “well” — the gap where most high achievers actually live.
This may be a fit if…
- Your labs are “normal” but you do not feel well
- You want answers, not another year of wait-and-see
- Symptoms span energy, skin, weight, mood, and sleep at once
- You want a baseline before you optimize anything
We test deeper so your plan starts from truth.
Functional lab testing is the foundation of everything we do. Where standard care orders a handful of values and checks them against disease-detection ranges, we order comprehensive panels and read them against optimal function — so we can help evaluate the patterns that explain how you actually feel.
When appropriate, that includes microbiome and specialty testing to look at gut integrity, inflammation, and nutrient status. Your results are interpreted by our provider and become the blueprint for an individualized plan.
Testing is not the destination — it is the starting line. Your data tells us where to begin, what to prioritize, and how to measure whether your plan is working.
What individualized care may include
- Comprehensive functional blood panels
- Microbiome and gut-health testing, when appropriate
- Hormone, thyroid, and adrenal assessment
- Provider review and a plain-English interpretation
- A baseline you can optimize against over time
Care is individualized and provider-guided. Specific therapies are recommended only when appropriate following evaluation.
Questions, answered
How is this different from labs at my doctor's office?
Two ways: breadth and interpretation. We order more comprehensive panels and read them against optimal function rather than only disease thresholds, so we can help evaluate patterns a standard panel may call “normal.”
Will insurance cover the testing?
Coverage varies. Some testing may be eligible for insurance or HSA/FSA, and some is out of pocket. We will be transparent about costs before any testing is ordered.
What happens after my results come back?
Your provider reviews your results with you in plain language and uses them to design an individualized plan — the Design phase of The Decoded Method. Testing without a plan is just data; we connect the two.
Can testing diagnose a condition?
Testing is a tool your licensed provider uses as part of evaluation. Any diagnosis or treatment is determined by your provider after appropriate evaluation — not by the website or the lab result alone.
Ready to decode your biology?
Every plan begins with understanding what is actually happening inside you. Start with a consultation or the Decoded Assessment.
